Paranormal Love Wednesdays, Imprisoned in Stone, Feb. 3

Magic imprisoned Dylan's soul, but not his will.
Love released both.

A spell kept secret for generations.
A brotherhood thirsting for power.
Demands that cannot be obeyed.
A woman who stands to lose everything.

And now a word about Imprisoned in Stone.

Maerva opened eyes to a darkness, not only of her room, but of the soul. Even though she knew no entry was possible through the closed door or shuttered window, the sense of a presence held her motionless. Air whispered over her skin as if someone touched her cheek. A breath later, the impression of an intruder vanished, leaving behind glimmering letters written by a ghostly hand.

They are coming. I can sense the presence of the Brethren. They murdered my son... my wife. They are coming—the ones who killed me!

The message marks Maerva’s entry into the world of magic. Her journey continues when, with her parents grudging approval, she joins the fighting mage, Tralin, as the older woman’s apprentice. Beyond missing her sea-faring brother Arcil, life at Tralin’s vale is uneventful for Maerva until a man on the doorstep complicates her life. Gareth is more than a visitor. Although his powers are weak compared to hers, he is the first mage of the opposite sex Maerva ever met. She refuses to allow her teacher to play matchmaker, but something about Gareth calls to Maerva and as her magic blossoms, so does their friendship. But with the strengthening of her powers, the dreams return.

For the crime of refusing to kill the healer Ethne, the Brethren imprisoned the weaponsmith Dylan, in stone. He is tortured for ages, his soul prevented from crossing the rainbow bridge to join his murdered wife and son in the world beyond. In a rare occurrence, the magical bonds tying his soul to the earth weakens before Cuhlwch, the current head of the Brethren, renews them. Dylan casts his senses outward and encounters--Maerva. However, her only knowledge of him comes from an eerie message on the wall and nightmarish dreams of wizards being drowned.

Cuhlwch’s son, Colwynn, learns of his father’s actions. He not only questions the justice of Dylan’s internment but despite being the only child, Colwynn knows he is not a suitable heir for the head of the Brethren. Cuhlwch wants a successor of his choosing... and will do anything to get one, including using magic to enforce his wish. Colwynn flees to his former teacher, Tralin, seeking not only sanctuary, but the unknown woman whose magic called to him. He finds both for Tralin now had an apprentice and her name was -Maerva. The deeper Colwynn gets into the search for the means to free Dylan, the more the attraction he feels to Maerva. An attraction threatened not only by the secrets he keeps--but the weaponsmith Gareth

Four paths--one destiny.
With the power to bind souls and control all magic in the balance.
